The Municipality of Talaingod was created through the concerted efforts of the house of representative and the senate particular Congressman BALTAZAR A. SATOR, who introduced the house bill number 5264 and approved by President CORAZON C. AQUINO on July 19,1991 as Republic Act number 7081 and same was surrounded with the following: Province of Bukidnon on the Norhtwest; Minicipality of Kapalong on the Norheast; Davao City on the South; and province of Bukidnon on the West,it composed of three (3) Barangays namely: Barangay Sto. Nino, Baragnay Palma Gil, Barangay and Barangay Dagohoy with a total population of 16,594, 85% of this are Ata-Manobo and a total land area of 65,683 heatares and has a distance of more or less forty five (45) kilometers to Davao del Norte Police Office with a maximum traveling time of thirty minutes. The economy of this town is agriculturally based. Of the total land area of Talaingod, 20,457 heactares are devoted to agriculture. Out of this, only 18.07% are productive while 81.93% are unproductive. With its creation MR. JOSE A. LIBAYAO was apponted as the first Municipa Mayor while SPO4 ARNULFO A. LORILLA was also designated as the Officer-In-charged of this station.
